Tragedy struck recently when Danielle Sonnenfeld, daughter of Elio Moti Sonnenfeld, was killed in a car accident in Samaria. The accident occurred in the evening hours and MDA received a report of a head-on collision.
Elio Moti Sonnenfeld, comes from an illustrious background. His Great grandfather was Rav Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, the former chief rabbi of Jerusalem .
Following in her parents’ footsteps, Danielle was always doing charity. As one close friend said of her, “She had an amazing humility and laughter I’ll never forget. She had a huge soul.” During her year of service she worked with a nonprofit called “Ezer Mtzion” where she also volunteered this year. She was coming back from an activity with them for Purim when her car was struck and she was killed. As those from Ezer Mtzion explained, she devoted herself for the last two years to helping children with cancer. She used every spare moment to be with these children. As someone from the organization said, “She had a unique personality and was radiant. Her heart was connected to children. On Sunday, she volunteered at a Purim party in the oncology department.”
