Paul Tudor Jones II founded Tudor Investment Corporation in 1980. Now, the asset management firm is one of the largest in the world.
Mr. Jones is listed as one of the 40 Highest-Earning hedge fund managers in the world today, and is well respected for his philanthropic work. He founded the Robin Hood Foundation, an organization aiming to end poverty in New York City, as well as the Excellence Charter School and the Bedford Stuyvesant I Have a Dream Foundation. He has also donated considerable funds to his alma mater, the University of Virginia.
Jones is a former chairman of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and currently chairs the Everglades Foundation as well. He also owns Grumeti Reserves in Tanzania’s Western Serengeti, where he forbids hunting.
According to Jones, he has learned a great amount through his charity work. He explains: “The most important thing is you’ve got to have a process that you know is going to work. You’re not going to achieve your goal if you don’t have a great way to get there and know exactly what the road’s going to look like.”
